Beacon Cinemaest. 2019

The Beacon is a roughly 48–50-seat single-screen microcinema in Columbia City, opened in 2019 by filmmaker Tommy Swenson and co-founder Casey Moore with about $80,000 in startup capital. It skips new releases in favor of eclectic repertory programming that pairs works across eras and genres, with an emphasis on rediscovering long-lost films.
