West Seattle
The Admiral Theatre is a neighborhood movie house in West Seattle dating to 1919, rebuilt in 1942 by noted theater architect B. Marcus Priteca with seahorse motifs, a mast/crow’s-nest, and a George Vancouver mural. Saved from closure by community preservation efforts in 1989 and landmark-designated, it now operates as a four-screen first-run cinema after a 2017 renovation, and is part of a small collection of Pacific Northwest theaters run by operator Far Away Entertainment.
